What is involved in a factual investigation?
Also known as ģCircumstance Investigationsī or ģCase Assessmentsī, Factual Investigations are conducted in an open, direct manner by trained professionals. They are intended to ascertain the facts - whether of an insurance claim, commercial issue or employment situation. Most factual investigators at LKA have a background in legal practice. Signed statements are obtained from witnesses, supervisors and other persons with information of interest. Documentary evidence, contracts and workplace minutes are collated and analysed. Accident scenes are appraised and photographed. Detailed reports on the circumstances, supported by statements, photographs and relevant documents are provided to the client. Insurers and corporate clients use this report to make an initial determination, and to brief solicitors on the factual history of the case.
